As the first phase of the
groundwater investigation,Upgradient proposes to install, develop and sample three groundwater monitoring
wells, purge and sample the on-site domestic well, and complete a 2,000-foot well receptor survey. The second
phase of the groundwater investigation will include drilling additional borings for vertical definition once the
groundwater flow direction has been identified.
The Workplan is approved with the following comments:
1. As required by the UST Regulations, monitoring wells must be allowed 72 hours curing time prior to well
development, and equilibrium must be established prior to any water sampling.
2. Because diesel is actively being dispensed at the site, the on-site domestic well and the monitoring well
water samples must also be analyzed for TPH as diesel by EPA Method 8015.
3. Following well installation and monitoring, submit a Workplan Addendum to propose second phase
boring locations and/or monitoring well locations.
By 28 June 2002, complete well installation and sampling and the 2,000-foot well receptor survey, and submit
the findings in the quarterly status report. All reports are to be submitted to this office and to the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Division(County). All local drilling permits must be obtained through the
County prior to beginning work. Please notify me at least five business days prior to any site work or sampling
tschedule an inspection appointment.
