However, the <br /> soil sample results did detect hydrocarbons in the gasoline <br /> range, indicating that this area may have been impacted -By the <br /> release of petroleum from the former regular gasoline tank. <br /> The low levels of contamination noted in the stockpiled soil <br /> generated during the removal of the diesel tank may not be <br /> indicative of the entire stockpile as the samples were composited <br /> for analysis. PHS/EHD neither recommends nor prohibits the use <br /> of this soil as backfill material for the open excavation. <br /> However, please be advised that this area may have been impacted <br /> from the release of petroleum from the former regular gasoline <br /> tank and may need to be included in the investigation efforts for <br /> that tank. <br /> The full extent of the soil contamination in the area underneath <br /> and immediately surrounding the former gasoline tank pit still <br /> needs to be determined.
