Ill .
oJ j
PUBLA_". HEALTH SER110ES
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY r. z
a: .a
JOGI KHANNA M.D.,M.P.H.
Health Officer P
P.O. Box 2009 • (1601 East Hazelton Avenue) Stockton,California 95201
c4iFo'R°'
(209) 46&3400
SEP 1 1 1991
THOMAS E HENDRIX
3748 MUNFORD AVE
STOCKTON CA 95205
RE: Hendrix Transport, Inc. IN REPLY REFER TO SITE CODE: 1694
3730 Munford Ave.
Stockton 95205
We have reviewed the laboratory report for the June 27, 1990,
sampling of monitoring well 11. The analytical results indicate
that toluene (4 . 3 parts per billion (ppb) ) is present in the
groundwater beneath the above referenced site. In June of 1986,
the analytical results from groundwater samples indicated much
higher levels of contamination, [benzene (382ppb) ; toluene
(115ppb) ; and xylene (58.3ppb) ] .
As stated in the June 11, 1991, San Joaquin County Public Health
Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) correspondence,
the extent of the migration of gasoline related constituents in the
groundwater, and the groundwater gradient are not known at this
time.
It is possible that these contaminants may have migrated to and
impacted the drinking water wells near the tank site. Additional
groundwater monitoring wells and sampling analysis are required to
determine the lateral and vertical extent of hydrocarbon
contamination.
In addition to the required wells, and pursuant to Section 2652 (d)
of the Underground Storage Tank Regulations (California Code of
Regulations, Title 23, Subchapter 16) quarterly monitoring reports
shall be submitted to PHS/EHD and to the Central Valley Regional
Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) until the investigation and
cleanup of the site is deemed adequate. Laboratory results alone
are insufficient. They must be incorporated into a complete report
which characterizes the site to the extent possible with the given
data. All quarterly reports are to include the following
information:
-status of investigation and cleanup activities including
the results of all investigations completed to date;
-proposed continuing or next phase of investigation;
-method of cleanup proposed or implemented, schedules for
the completion of the investigation of the site and
remediation;
A Dnision of Sart Joaquin County ffcalth Care services
