The site, which once contained a manufactured gas plane, <br /> shown on the map on the reverse side of this work notice. PG&E contractors, under INe, <br /> oversight of DISC, plan to begin collecting samples of soil, soil gas and groundwater <br /> throughout the site. These samples are being collected as part of a phased site <br /> investigation that will determine if residues from past gas manufacturing operations are <br /> present in soil and groundwater at the site. <br /> Work will take place from about July 7th through July 18th between the hours of 7:00 a.m. <br /> and 5:00 p.m. and includes the following: <br /> + Approximately 30 holes will be drilled through concrete and asphalt paving and . -7' <br /> and soil gas samples will be collected using sampling equipment and a truck- <br /> mounted drill rig from various locations on-site. One groundwater monitoring wee= <br /> will be installed and four existing monitoring wells will be sampled. <br /> + Boreholes will be filled with a concrete mixture and patched with asphalt or con r(-'Ap <br /> after work is completed. <br /> + For their own protection,workers may wear safety gear while working on-site and <br /> operating heavy equipment. <br /> All work will be conducted in accordance with a site-specific Health and Safety Plan. <br /> soil gas, and groundwater samples will be analyzed for one or more of the following <br /> constituents: polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, heavy metals, petroleum hydrocarbon" <br /> and volatile organic compounds. <br /> This work will be completed in accordance with the Final Remedial Investigation <br /> Workplan for the site.
