Any person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. The following <br /> wastes were observed at the facility: <br /> a. Seibert powder coat was observed on the ground in the epoxy area. <br /> b. Several saws are used to cut the wire product, producing fine metal dust. The dust was observed <br /> around the saws. <br /> c. The Zinc Phosphate hazardous waste roll off bin stored in the southwest corner of the property <br /> contained some liquid and solid. <br /> d. A metal cabinet in the southwest corner of the property contained leaking paint and acrylic adhesive <br /> containers. The containers leaked into the cabinet secondary containment. <br /> Immediately make a hazardous waste determination for the above wastes, and manage it according the <br /> Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Metal particles that are 100 microns or smaller must be handled <br /> as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a hazardous waste. Submit a statement and <br /> supporting documentation explaining how these wastes will be managed by May 13, 2011. <br /> Notice to Comply <br /> 15. Failed to maintain decontamination equipment. The eyewash in the epoxy area was missing a cap <br /> on one of the eyewash sprayers. Replace the cap to prevent contaminants from getting into the <br /> eyewash sprayer. <br /> 15. Failed to maintain spill control secondary containment. The used oil storage area secondary <br /> containment contained several inches of oily liquid. Secondary containment must be kept dry. Clean <br /> out the liquid and make a hazardous waste determination on the liquid. <br /> 19. Satellite (point of generation) accumulation. One full 55-gallon drum of aerosol cans in the <br /> manufacturing area was not marked with the date the drum became full. A point of generation container <br /> must be disposed of within one year of first adding waste to the container or 90 days from the date the <br /> container becomes full, whichever occurs first. Dispose of this waste as specified in Title 22 Code of <br /> Regulations and send the disposal / recycling bill of lading or manifest to the Environmental Health <br /> Department (EHD) by May 13, 2011. <br /> ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE($122). <br /> THIS FACILITY IS SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT END'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br /> EHD P"e /; Received B TiHe� <br /> EAO 23-02-003 Rev 08/10/10 CONTINUATION FORM <br />
