Johnson, Section Chief <br /> State Regulatory Program <br /> Department of Toxic Substances Control <br /> Region 1- 10151 Croydon Way, Ste 3 <br /> Sacramento, CA 95827 <br /> 08/19/1995 <br /> Dear Ms Johnson, <br /> Subsequent to the Department's inspection of the Sumiden Wire Products Corp. premises <br /> on July 13, 1995, we confirm that the violations outlined in your report have been <br /> corrected. <br /> 1.0 Generator Standards : 3 <br /> 1.1 Filter Press container has been labeled as <br /> Non RCRA Haz Waste Solid <br /> EPA ID # CAD 097068126 <br /> State Waste # 181 See photo 91 <br /> 1.2 Satellite accumulation drums for floor sweeps has been labeled as <br /> Non RCRA Haz Waste Solid <br /> EPA ID # CAD 097068126 <br /> State Waste # 181 See photo 92 <br /> Labels were in place on the satellite accumulation drums at the time of inspection, but had <br /> become illegible due to daily handling by the forklifts. <br /> 2.1 SWPC feel that the unit notification was accurate in that we have only 1 system <br /> that is operated under PBR in that we have 1 PBR x 1 Unit for which we pay an annual <br /> fee, however SWPC do not want to enter into a protracted arguement over the <br /> terminology given in DTSC 1772 which states that <br /> " a unit is described as: <br /> a combination of tanks or tank systems and/or containers located together that are <br /> used in sequence to treat one or more compatible hazardous wastestreams. The <br /> devices are either plumbed together or otherwise linked so as to form one <br /> treatment system". <br /> and we have amended DTSC 1772D to reflect this change. Letter and forms notifying the <br /> DTSC of the change are attached separately.
