* Vehicles (and systems) must be checked for proper <br /> operation at the beginning of each shift . 1597(h) <br /> 12 . 0 TRAINING <br /> All personnel who may be exposed to on site contaminants <br /> must provide documentation of training . <br /> 12 . 1 BASIC TRAINING <br /> * Current certification of 40 hours of (OSHA) classroom <br /> instruction/hands-on training , to include : <br /> 1 . Three days of field experience under the supervision <br /> of an experienced supervisor . <br /> 2 . Eight hours of annual classroom refresher training , <br /> as appropriate . <br /> * Eight hours of supervisory training if a team member is a <br /> designated supervisor . <br /> * Hazard communication training . <br /> 12 . 2 SPECIFIC TRAINING <br /> Project-specific training and information will be provided <br /> either before traveling to the site or at the site before <br /> entry into the exclusion zone . The information and training <br /> will be documented , and. will include the following : <br /> * The contents of the Health and Safety Plan <br /> * A discussion of the health and safety hazards , protective <br /> measures , and work practices for handling contaminated <br /> soil , water , or equipment <br /> 13. 0 MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE PLAN <br /> Medical surveillance will be carried by and in accordance <br /> with the geologic survey team of engineers . In-house <br /> medical surveillance will be carried out should the <br /> environmental organization cease monitoring. <br /> 14 . 0 EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN <br /> Emergency contacts will be made, as necessary , from the list <br /> in the following section . <br /> Page - 23 <br />
