Duriiig'the pump. ?
test;three sets of a grab samples were-collected prior to discharge'into the tank utilizing three 407mi
' EPA-approved.volatile;organic analysis (VOA) vials.containing 0.5 ml 18% hydrochloric acidras a
sample preservative. The three samples were collected at 12:30 pm(4 Hour); 4:30 pm,(8 hours) and -
at the termination of the test 8:30;pm.(12 hours).
Following sample collection, each preserved sample was logged on a chain-of-custody' form, placed
in a chilled container and transported to a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified ,
laboratory for analysis for:'
Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and, diesel (TPH-g and.TPH-d,
respectively)by EPA Method 8015 Modified and- ;
'12• Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX) and methyl-tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) .
by EPA Method 80 20. .
• Volatile organic,compounds(VOCs) -specifically fuel additives;ethylene dibromide(EDB),
' 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), tertiary butanol(TBA), di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tert
butyl ether (ETRE), tert amyl.methyi ether (TAME), and confirmation of MTBE,by EPA
-Method 8260 Modified.
2.2.1.. Extracted Water Analytical Results
The results of the laboratory analysis detected TPH=ss .at a maximum concentration-of 1,200
microgramsper, liter (ug/1}. BTEX compounds were detected in the-grab ground water samples at t
concentrations as high as 55 Mgll (kylene). Various VOCs.were detected. Cis-1,2-DCA and vinyl
chloride were detected at'coricentrations as high-as 1.7 ggll and 1.6µg11,respectively.-The laboratory
reports (McCampbell Analytical Inc. Lab I.D. 76961 'and 769.62), Quality Assurance and Quality.
Control data and chain-of-custody forms are presented in Appendix F.
•2.3. PURGED GROUND WATER DISPOSAL ,
.
