Significant levels of Stoddard Solvent was found in the groundwater
samples collected. Benzene was found in the groundwater in MW-1
and MW-3 . No Toluene was found but Ethlybenzene and Xylene
contamination was detected in all the groundwater samples
collected.
GROUNDWATER DEPTH
Prior to purging and sampling on November 4, 1993 the depth to
groundwater was measured by an electronic probe. The water depth
was measured from a mark located on the top of the casing. The
groundwater gradient data are presented in Table 3 . The gradient
is southerly at 0. 057 ft/ft. The groundwater gradient is depicted
in Figure 3.
TABLE 3
GROUNDWATER GRADIENT DATA
(Elevations Measured on November 4, 1993)
casing Water Water Surface
Well I.D. Soil samples collected in the
advancement of MW-3 had Stoddard Solvent contamination ranging from
34 to 2000 ppm.
No Benzene was detected in the soil samples.
Toluene ranged from Non Detected to 4 ppm, Ethylbenzene ranged from
Non Detected to 9 ppm and Xylene ranged from 3 to 51 ppm
The groundwater gradient is southerly at 0.057 ft/ft.
7
