06 February 2003 <br /> AGE-NC Project No. 98-0504 <br /> Page 5of9 <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) in <br /> accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, <br /> • Volatile aromatic hydrocarbons.- benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and total xylene (BTEX) <br /> in accordance with EPA Method 8020/8260 and <br /> • Oxygenated compounds:di-isopropyl ether(DIPS),ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),methyl <br /> tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA), <br /> methanol, ethanol, ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1,7-DCA) in <br /> accordance with EPA Method 8260. <br /> Selected soil samples may also be analyzed tier intrinsic permeability,moisture content,porosity and <br /> total organic carbon (TOC) in accordance, with the appropriate EPA or ASTM methods. <br /> Laboratory reports of both soil and ground water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality <br /> assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be <br /> presented in a report <br /> 3.3. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION, DEVELOPNWNT AND SURVEY <br /> The pilot borings will be completed as single-level groundwater monitoring wells screened from <br /> 25 to 45 feet bsg. Following installation, each well will be developed to maximize water flow and <br /> Minimize the amount of fine-grainer; sediment drawn into the well during pumping or bailin-, anti <br /> the top of each existing and newly installed well casing (well head) will be surveyed to determine <br /> its elevation relative to mean sea level. Procedures for well installation, development and survey are, <br /> presented in Sections 4.2. and 4.3., respectively. <br /> 3.4. GROUND WATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS <br /> Following the installation of the new monitoring wells, ground water monitoring and samplin0 <br /> activities will be conducted for all the monitoring wells on a quarterly basis for a minimum of one <br /> year (four sampling events); monitoring activities will include recording depth to ground water <br /> measurements and collection of ground water samples for laboratory analysis by a DIIS-certified <br /> laboratory for the analytes noted in Section 3.2.
