15 December 2000
AGI:-tit' Proiect No. 98-0504
Pau,e ol'7
I lie proposed probe horino locations many be modified due to field observations or additional
borings may he advanced with approval by the P.HS-EIID.
Soil samples will be collected at 5-1oot intervals heginnim, at 5 feet bso extending to the total probe
boring, depths. Field procedures for advancement ol'probe borings and collection ol'soil samples arc
prescntcd in Section 4.1 .1. Selected soil samples from each probe boring will be submitted for
laboratory analysis with concw-rencc of the PIIS-h;HD. The selected soil samples Neill be analyzed
by a State of California Dcpartmen# of I-Iralth Services (DIiS)-certified Iahoratory for the tollowing
constituent~:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantilied as gasoline and diesel (TPII, and TPII-d) in
accordance with FPA Method 8015 Modified.
• Volatile aromatic hvdrocarbons: henzene. toluene, ethyl benzene and total xylene (B"rF.X)
in accordance ),yith EPA methods 8020 and
• Fuel additives: di-isopropyl ether (DIPI;). ethyl tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE). methyl tertiary-
butyl ether (MTBF). tertiary-amvl methyl ether ("I'AMI ), tertiary butanol (TBA), methanol.
ethanol. ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1 2-dichloroethane (1.2-DCA) in accordance with
LPA Method 8260 Modified.
Lahoratory reports for soil analyses. testim, methods, laboratory duality assurance/quality control
(QA./QC) reports, and sample chain of-custody documentation will be presented in a. report with
findin<,s and recommcndaticros.
1. . GRAB GROI;ND WATER SAMPF.F COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
Grab ground water samples will be collected from three probe boring using a Geoprobe %rater
sampling assembly. Samples will be collected into 40-ml volatile organic analysis (VOA)vials, as
appropriate for the required analyses. Ground water sample collection procedures are presented in
Section 4.1 .2. Ground water samples will be analyzed by a DI-IS-certified laboratory l'or:
• TPI I-g by EPA Method 8015 Modified;
• B'I F:X by FPA Method 8020, and
• DIPE. E1BE. MTBE. I AMF. TBA, methanol. ethanol, ethylene EDB and I.2-DCA in
accordance with LPA Method 8260 Modified.
Laborator\ reports for around water analyses, testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
control (Q.A%QC) reports. and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
%yith the findings and recommendations.
th-unced GeoEa%irimmenual.Ine.
