10 Treadwell&Rdlo <br /> SOIL AND GROUNDWATER REMEDIATION REPORT <br /> FORMER CARANDO MACHINE WORKS <br /> 420 NORTH MADISON STREET <br /> Stockton, California <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report documents the soil and groundwater remediation work performed at the former <br /> Carando Machine Works Site (Site) at 420 North Madison Street(Figures 1 & 2) The City of <br /> Stockton(City) owns the Site, and Treadwell & Rollo, Inc (Treadwell & Rollo)was retained by <br /> the City for environmental consulting services The San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department (SJCEHD) is overseeing the soil and groundwater characterization and remediation <br /> work at the Site related to releases from underground storage tanks WSTs) at the former on-site <br /> gasoline service station <br /> so <br /> The objective of this remediation project was to mitigate soil and groundwater contamination <br /> from leaking USTs and to place an oxygen releasing compound in the subsurface to expedite and <br /> assist in-situ bioremediation of the petroleum contaminants During April 2005, the soil <br /> iremediation was conducted in conformance with the 14 February 2005 workplan titled <br /> Remediation and Groundwater Monitoring Workplan, Former Carando Site, 420 North Madison <br /> Street, Stockton, California (Treadwell &Rollo 2005a), which was approved by the SJCEHD in <br /> a letter dated 3 March 2005 (SJCEHD 2005a) The approval letter is included in Appendix A <br /> This report presents the following <br /> 1 Our findings regarding previous site uses and investigations, <br /> 2 Soil and groundwater remediation methodologies, and <br /> 3 Sampling results and laboratory analytical methods used during our remediation program <br />
