INC. 423 NORTH MADISON STOCKTON - .PROPOSAL TO CONDUCT A
CAE ,
PRELIMINARY SITE INVESTIGATION
We have reviewed the 14 August 1990 proposal for conducting a preliminary site
investigation prepared by WaterWork. for this site.. The proposal includes
installation and sampling of two soil :borings and three ground water
monitoring wells to evaluate the potential- impact on soil and ground water in
two underground storage tank areas.
Based on our review of the proposal , we find the proposal to be generally
acceptable, and with the provision that an.,adequate number of monitoring wells
are installed, the proposal -should be accepted.
Because it will not be possible to evaluate the direction of ground water flow
in the vicinity of the eastern tank complex using only the .two monitoring
wells proposed, at least one additional 'monitoring well will be. necessary.
This gradient determination will be necessary to determine whether the leaking
fuel tank has had an impact on water quality.
If you have any questions, please call Tom Peltier at (916) 361-5731 . d
THOMAS D: PELTIER
Associate Engineering Geologist
TDP:tdp
f
l
