t 4
' 20 March 2002
AGE-NC Project No 95-0144
Page 6of7
5.0. SUMMARYXONCLUSIONS
I
Based upon data collected during the ground water monitoring event, AGE concludes
' The average ground water elevation increased approximately 0 80 feet at the site since the
previous ground water monitoring event Ground water remained above the screened Interval
I in seven of the shallow wells sampled during the first quarter of 2002 Ground water
elevations in wells completed beneath the clay layer(approximately 35 to 45 feet bsg)were
between 141 to 1 68 feet lower than in wells completed within first ground water
' Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in six of the ten wells sampled during the February
2002 monitoring event Concentrations of TPH-g, TPH-d and TPH-mo have remained
' relatively stable since the August 2001 monitoring event
• TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in wells MW-21A and MW-21B located within the former
UST No 8 pit The plume of ground water impacted by TPH-d is larger than the TPH-g
plume, extending north of MW-19 and north of MW-20
• Low concentrations of MTBE were detected in ground water samples collected from
lie
monitoring wells MW-2,MW-4,MW-13,MW-19A,MW-19B and MW-21B located north
of the former UST No 8 pit Based on its sporadic detections and low concentrations, the
impact of MTBE on the site is believed to be minimal The concentrations of MTBE detected
' during the February 2002 monitoring event were below the DHS Secondary Maximum
Contaminant Level of 5 Ag/1
6.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data obtained during the first quarter of 2002 and previous sampling events, AGE
recommends continued quarterly monitoring of the site The next quarterly monitoring event should
be scheduled for May 2002, concurrent with monitoring at the former Chase Chevrolet Van Buren
site
7.0. LIMITATIONS
' Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an Independent laboratory Evaluations of the hydrogeologic
' conditions at the site have been made from a limited number of available data points (i e ground
water monitoring wells, ground water samples) and subsurface conditions may vary through time
' Advanced GcoEnvtronmental,Inc
