Mr. Joel Weiss
June 22, 1994
Page two
until turbidity is minimized. The well will be purged 48 hours
later. A minimum of three well volumes (casing and
sandpack) will be removed using pH, temperature and electrical
conductivity stabilization as parameters for estimating sample
representativeness. A water sample will be submitted for BTEX and
Total Gasoline, Diesel and Kerosene hydrocarbons analysis. Prior
to sampling water levels will be obtained from all site wells
and the new well will be tied into the existing well survey.
Laboratory services will be provided by Sequoia Analytical (DOHS
Cert. #1210).
Bailing of free product from well MW -8 has been initiated and will
continue. Product thickness, depths to water and amounts recovered
are being logged weekly.
A technical summary report will be prepared which will include all
analytical results, a groundwater gradient plot, free product
recovery data and recommendations for additional work at the site.
It is anticipated that no further characterization activities will
be necessary prior to preparing a corrective action plan.
All field and laboratory activities performed at the site will be
conducted in accordance with the attached Quality Assurance/Quality
Control Plan.
We are prepared to begin work within 30 days of your authorization
to proceed. The technical summary report will be provided within
60 days of your authorization.
