(EES) is submitting this addendum to our <br />letter dated April 26, 1989 for additional work at the Roberts Petroleum Services Facility in <br />Lodi, California. Our letter requested approval for permits for the installation of a groundwater <br />recovery well for removing free -phase petroleum hydrocarbons and drilling additional <br />exploratory borings. <br />Your office requested the following information prior to issuing permits: <br />1 . Site plot plan on 8-1/2 by 11 inch sheet <br />2. Description of well construction <br />3. Plan for disposal of soil and groundwater <br />4. Groundwater gradient at the subject site <br />The attached figure shows the locations of the proposed recovery well and exploratory borings. <br />When the boring for the well is drilled to its termination depth, 2 inch diameter, Schedule 40 <br />PVC blank and factory slotted casing with flush -threaded couplings will be set through the <br />8 -inch outside diameter augers. Clean sand will be used to fill the annular space to a level that <br />is approximately 2 feet above the screened interval. A bentonite seal will be set upon the sand <br />and cement grout, placed using a tremie pipe, will be used to seal the remainder of the annular <br />space. The exploratory borings will be backfilled with cement grout placed through the augers <br />using a tremie pipe. <br />Drill cuttings generated from the drilling will be placed on plastic sheeting and covered. <br />Groundwater removed from the well will be drummed. Both will be left at the site pending the <br />results of the laboratory analyses.
