PRE-TANK REPLACEMENT Site Assessment Results <br /> 880 VICTOR ROAD LODI, CA. <br /> Aegis Project No. 89-014 <br /> Page 3 <br /> o Soils recovered from the soil borings were screened for the <br /> presence of organic vapors with an hNu photoionization detector <br /> (PID) and the highest PID reading from each sample was recorded <br /> on the soil boring logs. <br /> o Drill cuttings were placed in 14 Department of Transportation <br /> approved barrels. The barrels were sealed and labeled with a <br /> unique number. <br /> o Based on the results of classification and screening, one soil <br /> sample from each soil boring was placed under a chain of custody, <br /> secured in a sealed ice chest and submitted to state-certified- <br /> laboratory for analysis. <br /> o Samples submitted for analysis from the soil borings were <br /> analyzed for benzene, ethyl benzene, toluene, xylenes (BTEX) , <br /> 1, 2-dichlorobenzene, 1, 3-dichlorobenzene, 1, 4-dichlorobenzene, <br /> total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) and total lead. The methods <br /> used in the analysis of soil samples are described in Section <br /> 4 . 0. <br /> o Upon completion of the drilling operations all soil borings were <br /> filled to the surface with a sand, cement, bentonite mix under <br /> the supervision of a San Joaquin County inspector. <br /> o Four soil samples and copies of the soil boring logs were <br /> submitted to a geotechnical soils laboratory for confirmation of <br /> soil types and analysis of soil stability. <br /> 2 . 0 BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br /> The Site is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of <br /> Victor Road and Beckman Avenue in Lodi, San Joaquin County, <br /> California, Township 3 N. , Range 7 E. , Section 6 (Figure 1) . The Site <br /> lies within a commercial area in northeastern Lodi. The San Joaquin <br /> County assessor ' s parcel number for the Site is 049-05-32 . <br /> 2 . 1 Site Description <br /> The Site is currently occupied by an operational Shell service <br /> station. The Site consists of two canopy covered pump islands and a <br /> station building (Figure 2) . The pump islands are located on the north <br /> central section of the Site. The station building is located on the <br /> southeastern corner of the Site. Four underground fuel-storage-tanks <br /> are located on the central western portion of the Site. An under- <br /> ground waste oil tank is located adjacent to and east of the station <br />
