C A M B R I A
Well Development/Sampling Blame developed and purged wells MW-8 through MW-11 on
August 1, 2003 and sampled all site wells on August 21, 2003
Blaine developed the wells using surge block agitation and pump
evacuation Blaine's groundwater monitoring and well
development report, which includes field sheets, is presented as
Appendix C
Wellhead Survey: Virgil Chavez Land Surveying (licensed land surveyor
No 6323) of Vallejo, California surveyed the top of casing
elevations for wells MW-8 through MW-11 relative to mean sea
level and surveyed the well's latitude and longitude on
August 15, 2003 (Appendix E)
Groundwater Flow Direction Cambria evaluated water-level measurement data from
August 21, 2003 and prepared a groundwater contour map
including a rose diagram (Figure 3) Groundwater flow
direction is predominantly to the east this quarter with a
hydraulic gradient ranging from 0 004 to 0 017
HYDROCARBON DISTRIBUTION IN SOIL
No TPHg, BTEX, or fuel oxygenates were detected in soil samples collected from well borings
MW-8 through MW-10 However, the soil samples were analyzed outside of hold time No soil
samples were analyzed from well MW-11, because it is located near well MW-1, where soil
samples have already been collected and analyzed
The soil chemical analytical data are summarized in Table 2 and TPHg, benzene, and MTBE
results are presented on Figure 2 Laboratory analytical reports are included in Appendix F
HYDROCARBON DISTRIBUTION IN GROUNDWATER
TPHg and BTEX were not detected in any of the site wells by Blaine on August 21, 2003
MTBE was detected in groundwater samples collected from wells MW-1 through MW-5, MW-7,
MW-9, P-1, and P-2 at concentrations ranging from 0 52 to 120,000 ppb MW-11, which is
screened from 90 to 100 fbg, also contained 3 0 ppb MTBE TBA was detected in wells MW-1
through MW-4, P-1, and P-2 at concentrations ranging from 310 to 100,000 ppb, and in MW-1 i
0955 7
