C A M B R I A
0
The soil chemical analytical data (including data from SB-3 and other previous work) are
summarized in Table 3 and TPHg, benzene, and MTBE results are presented on Figure 2
Laboratory analytical reports are included in Appendix D
Hydrocarbon Distribution in Groundwater
TPHg and BTEX were not detected in any of the site wells, although some reporting limits were
elevated MTBE was detected in groundwater samples collected from wells MW-1 through
MW-4, MW-7, P-1, and P-2 at concentrations ranging from 460 to 120,000 ppb TBA was
detected in wells MW-1 through MW-4, P-1, and P-2 at concentrations ranging from 860 to
33,000 ppb TAME was also detected in piezometer P-1 at 310 ppb No other fuel oxygenates
were detected in groundwater samples collected from the wells
The groundwater chemical analytical data are summarized in the well concentrations table in
Blaine's report (Appendix C) and in Table 4 Benzene and MTBE results are presented on
Figure 3 Laboratory analytical data are included in Blaine's report(Appendix C)
• Conclusions
Soil results from well borings MW-5 through MW-7 delineate fuel oxygenates laterally in soil
north, east, and southeast of the USTs The lateral extent of TPHg and benzene in soil is defined
by the soil borings Cambria drilled during January 1999 The vertical extent of TPHg, benzene,
and fuel oxygenates in soil is defined by CPT borings Cambria drilled during October 2001
MTBE, TBA, and TAME have been detected in groundwater beneath the site Wells MW-5 and
MW-6 delineate the Iateral extent of impacted groundwater north and northeast of the USTs
TPHg and BTEX were not detected in groundwater samples from the wells, although some
reporting limits were elevated The vertical extent of TPHg, benzene, and fuel oxygenates
(except MTBE)in groundwater is defined by CPT borings Cambria drilled during October 2001
Recommendations
Cambria recommends gauging and sampling all site wells quarterly to determine if there are
seasonal fluctuations in the observed groundwater elevations and chemical concentrations and to
establish a predominant groundwater flow direction over time Historically, TPHg, BTEX,
MTBE, TBA, and TAME have been detected in groundwater beneath the site Therefore, we
recommend that the groundwater samples from all wells be analyzed for TPHg, BTEX, and fuel
0955 8
