I • well, but not in any of the monitor wells Upgradsent recommended that the wells be resampled dunng the third quarter 3.0 PROCEDURES IMonitoring was performed on August 6, 1996 Upon arrival at the site, the wells were opened and allowed to equalize with atmospheric pressure A Sohnst water level meter was used to measure the depth to groundwater in the monitoring wells Depth measurements were recorded on the Well Monntor Report (Appendix A) and are shown in Table 1 The total depth of the wells was also measured and recorded After water depths were measured, a Grundfos Reds-flow 2 submersible pump was used to purge and develop the wells Approximately 20 gallons of water were pumped from each well and stored in plastic barrels During purging, a Corning pH, conductivity, temperature gauge was used to measure these parameters until they stabilized After purging each well, the pump was cleaned ' with a TSP/water solution After purging, new disposable bailers were used to collect samples from each well Two 40-m1 vials and one 1-liter amber bottle were collected and placed in a cooled ice chest, and transported to Excelchesn for analysis The laboratory report is included in Appendix B 4.0 RESULTS • 4.1 Depth to Groundwater ater On average, the depth to groundwater has dropped by about four feet since April (Table 1) Currently, the depth averages 57 9 feet below grade I4.2 Groundwater Gradient Figure 3 illustrates the present direction of groundwater flow In general, the direction of flow is Ito the south at 0 0066 ft/ft Previously, flow was to the east 4.3 Analytical Results I The laboratory report is presented in Appendix B, and summarized in Table 2 For the first time, toluene was detected in TT-2, no hydrocarbons were detected in either TT-1 or TT-3 The concentration of 0 6 ug/l (parts per billion) is extremely low, and is only 0 1 ppb above the required reporting limit I if ' 2 I
