Box 13648 <br /> Sacramento, CA 95853 <br /> REGAL STATION #603 , 6425 PACIFIC AVENUE, STOCKTON <br /> We have reviewed the 21 December 1988 letter from your consultant, <br /> Western Geo-Engineers, regarding the pr--pesal to backfill the <br /> existing excavation and install an upgraded fuel system. <br /> We agree to your proposal, but only with the following conditions: <br /> 1. The installation of new tanks and the operation of the <br /> facility will not interfere with the ongoing investigation , or <br /> the future remediation of the soil and groundwater contamination <br /> at the site. This may mean the removal of the tank system at a <br /> future date if the contaminated soil beneath the tanks proves to <br /> be a source of groundwater contamination that cannot be <br /> remediated in place. <br /> 2 . All activities will be coordinated with both this office and <br /> the San Joaquin Local Health District, and all necessary local <br /> permits will be obtained prior to the initiation of work. <br /> 3 . A Problem Assessment Report will be submitted to this office <br /> and Ms. Diane Hinson of the San Joaquin Local Health District, by <br /> 17 February 1989 and will follow Region 5 's Appendix A of the <br /> Tri-Regional Board Guidelines (enclosed) . <br /> Please inform us no later than 13 January 1989 if these conditions <br /> are acceptable, and of the dates you plan to perform the proposed <br /> work.
