UST Closure Work Plan October 6,2000
6425 Pacific Avenue Project No.3944
Stockton California Page 3
maintained. Care will be taken such that the Teflon sheets are not wrinkled.
Soil samples selected for analysis will be labeled indicating project name (or number), sample
number, sample depth, date and collection time. The same information will be recorded on the
chain of custody form. Soil samples will be placed in a cooler with frozen gel packs or ice. The
sample cooler will be delivered to the analytical laboratory within 24 hours of collection.
Based on our knowledge of the Site from previous investigations conducted at the Lincoln
Center, groundwater will be not encountered in any of the borings. Thus, no groundwater
samples will be collected.
3.4 Laboratory Analyses
Soil samples will be analyzed by a state certified analytical laboratory for the gasoline
constituents' benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) by EPA method 8020.
TPH-g will be analyzed by EPA method 8015, modified. Fuel oxygenates (MtBE, TAME, DlPE,
ETBE and TBA) and lead scavengers (EDB and 1,2-DCE) will be analyzed by EPA method
8260b.
3.5 Field Equipment Decontamination Procedures
The sampler will be decontaminated before and after each use by steam cleaning or washing in a
laboratory grade detergent solution, followed by tap water, or deionized water rinses. Potable
water will be used for decontamination of drilling equipment.
All rinseate water used in the decontamination process and all purge water and soil cores from
the temporary wells will be stored on-site in steel DOT approved drums. Drums will be labeled
as to contents, date container filled, company name, and sealed. The drums will be left on-site
for subsequent disposal pending analytical results.
4.0 UST CLOSURE REPORT
A UST Closure Report will be prepared and submitted to the SJC-EHD and Sims-Grupe
Management Corp. The report will include site history, figures identifying sample locations,
drilling logs, laboratory analytical reports, a summary of all work performed, a tabulation of
analytical results and conclusions and recommendations regarding additional work, if necessary.
The report will be prepared under the direct supervision of a licensed professional engineer or a
registered geologist. The report will comply with the requirements of the Tri-Regional Board
Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites
(August 30, 1991).
\\Tom\d\Central Project File\3944 Stockton\Workplan.doc
