A lot of time and energy has been spent
to address the concerns of the State Water Resources Control Board letter dated November 14th 2000.
Their only concern was the clamps that connected the Ilex boots to the fiber glass pipes have the
potential to corrode and ultimately causing the connection to fail due to the unprotected steel clamps
being exposed to backfill.
Bravo Systems has come up with a design change that meets the State Water Resources Control Board
concerns. Following is an excerpt from their Flex Boot installation instructions(see attached)
"After a successful test of the secondary piping system apply white vulkem to complete exterior of the
stainless steel coated clamps approximately '/. thick...... "Let the sealant form a skin or harden then
backfill with approved peagravel per pipe manufacturer specifications."
Again thank you for your assistance on these matters
Steve Hardister,Project Manager
Any questions please call Steve Hardister @ 1-800-522-7244
