Design, Construction,Installation, Testing, and Monitoring Requirements for Piping <br /> (b) All corrodible underground piping, if in direct eontact with backfill material, shall be <br /> protected against corrosion. Piping constructed of fiberglass-ncinfosced plastic, steel with <br /> cathodic protection,or steel isolated from direct contact with backfill, fulfills this corrosion <br /> protection requirement Cathodic protection shall meet the requirements of section 2635(a)(2), <br /> 2631.Design and Construction Requirements for New USTs <br /> )Asecondary conrAinment system which is not an:ategral pan of primary ron[ainnient shaD be <br /> designed and constructed according to an erlg}neering specification approved by a state registered <br /> professional zltgll]eer or according to a natioty recognized industry code or engineering <br /> standard. The eng nearing speci£cation shall include the canstructioa Procedures. Materials used <br /> to construct the secondary containment system shall have sufficient thuckness, density, and <br /> corrosion resistance to prevent structural weakening or damage to the secondary containment <br /> system as a result of contact with auy released hazardous subsutnce. The following requirements <br /> apply ro these secondary containment systems: <br /> 2635.Instsuation and Testing Requirements for All New UST& <br /> (d) Owners or their agents shall certify that the installation of the tanks and piping meets the <br /> conditions in subdivisions(1) through(5)below. The certification shall be made on a"Certificate <br /> of Compliance for Underground Storage Tank Installation Form.C"(see Appendix V). <br /> (1) The installer has been adequately trained as evidenced by a certificate of training issued by <br /> the tank and piping manufacturers; <br /> (2) The installer has been certified or licensed by the Contractors State License Board; <br /> (3)The underground storage tank,any primary piping, and any secondary containment, was <br /> installed according to applicable voluntary consensus standards and any rnftnufacturees written <br /> installation inumctions: <br /> (4)All work listed in the manufacnrrar s installation cheeklisr has beery completed; and <br /> (S) The installation has been inspected and approved by the local agency, or, if requited by the <br /> local agency, inspected and certified by a registered professional engineer who has education in <br /> and experience with undcxgmuud storage tank system installation. <br />
