' 5.4 FUTURE ACTIVITIES Draft
To implement the use of enhanced bioremediation, ERM proposes to
' perform the injection of ORC at locations immediately upgradient and
downgradient of each former UST location To track the reduction of
' TPH-g and BTEX in ground water following the application of ORC,ERM
will collect samples from each of the monitoring wells at the site Samples
will be collected prior to the injection of ORC to obtain baseline data on
' ground water conditions at the site Following the injection of ORC,ERM
will perform a round of ground water sampling during the following
three quarters
If the sampling results indicate that the concentrations of TPH-g and
' BTEX are decreasing or show stabilization, Heinz will submit a request for
site closure to the County and CVRWCB Site closure will be requested
based on
® Demonstration of BAT for ground water remediation,
10 ® Low remaining risk, and
' o Demonstration of natural attenuation
If the concentrations of TPH-g or BTEX increase in the monitoring wells,
' ERM will discuss the need for additional application of ORC with the
County and CVRWQCB
' Following County and CVRWQCB review of tlus report and discussion of
remediation activities for the site, ERM will prepare a remediation
workplan This workplan will describe the methods that will be
' employed to inject ORC and monitor the reduction in cherrucal
concentrations in ground water
0
' 14
