The
original scope of work for this-phase of the project was outlined in Ramage Environmental's
Work Plan, dated December 13, 1999. To date, only the on-site cone penetration test (CPT)
boring has been completed.
Results of CPT Drilling, Sampling and Analysis
On April 25, 2001, to evaluate'the vertical extent of impacted soil and groundwater, Gregg
Drilling and Testing, Inc. (Gregg), a state licensed drilling contractor(C-57 9656407),
advanced CPT borings and collected discrete soil and groundwater samples at one on-site
location. Gregg's Presentation of Cone Penetration Test Data, dated May 5, 2000, is
+ enclosed.
The CPT location (CPT-1) is shown on the enclosed site map. At CPT-1, Gregg advanced a
pair of soil borings with a truck-mounted CPT rig, with a down pressure capacity of
approximately 25 tons. The first boring was advanced to a total depth of approximately,122
feet below ground surface (bgs) with the CPT system, which records tip resistance, sleeve
! friction, and dynamic pore pressure at five centimeter intervals. Pore pressure dissipation
tests were recorded when suspected groundwater-bearing zones were encountered during
drilling. The CPT plots, porepressure dissipation plots,;and interpretation output are
included in Gregg's enclosed report. The second boringiat CPT-I was dedicated to collect
three soil samples and one discrete groundwater sample.
i
