Analytical results of groundwater sample taken from Monitoring Wen #2
(MW-2) were 130,000 parts per billion (ppb) of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline
(- PH-g), and 4,700 ppb, 56,000 ppb, 6,100 ppb, and 35,000 ppb of Benzene, Toluene,
Ethyl-Benzene, and Xylenes (BTEX collectively), respectively. Analytical results of
groundwater sample taken from MW-3 were 14,000 ppb of TPH-g, and 570, 340, 1,600, and
3,100 ppb of BTEX, respectively. The results were consistent with the analytical results of
the groundwater collected from the last two monitoring events. According to Prarnninary
Irzrestigation acrd Evaluation Report dated February 23, 1999 prepared by Ramage, analytical
results of the soil sample collected from MW-2 at 50 feet below surface grade (bsg) were 860
parts per million (ppm) of TPH-g, and 4.5, 72, 26, and 150 ppm of BTEX,respectively.
PHS/EHD concurs with the report that the lateral extent of the impacted groundwater is
undefined to the north, west, and south of the former excavation, and that the vertical extent
of groundwater contamination may not be defined. Submit a work plan that will define the
vertical and lateral extent of the contamination to PHS/EHD by October 14, 1999.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeffrey Wong at (209) 468-0335
Donna Heran,REHS,Director
Environmental Health Division
Jeffrey ong,REHS Margaret agorio,RE
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
C: RWQCB,Central Valley Region-Mark List
C: Wright Environmental Services, Inc.
C: Ramage Environmental -Joe Ramage
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
