(Wright) has prepared this addendum workplan on behalf of
' Estate of Joe Gardella (owner) for the above referenced site. The proposed work is in response
to a letter dated January 27, 2003 from the San Joaquin Public Health Services Environmental
Health Division (PHS EHD) for additional monitoring well installations and site assessment. This
work is being done to address petroleum contaminants on-site. Previous site assessment activities .
have mapped portions of the dissolved plume and quarterly monitoring samplings with reports are
ongoing at the site. The addendum was discussed in the meeting between Wright and PHS EHD
representatives on May 22, 2003 and their letter dated June 2, 2003.
Meeting of May 22, 2003 and Discussion of Workplan
Wright and PHS EHD representatives discussed the April 25, 2003 workplan and the previous
site work to date. The tanks were installed on the property in 1971 and the leak appears to center
on the former tank pit. Groundwater levels in the area may have been up to 30 feet deeper than
E, present day, a condition that would have enhanced vertical contaminant penetration in years prior `
to the more recent groundwater "rebound" and water levels rising in the area. PHS EHD was in
general agreement with the workplan but indicated concerns regarding, the nature of the site
stratigraphy and contaminant pathways for all contaminants, especially 1,.2-Dichlorethane (1, 2-
DCA). Currently, three water bearing zones of interest occur at about 35'50 feet, 60-65 feet and
110-119 feet have been identified. The largest area of petroleum contaminant appears within the
35-50 foot aquifer zone (roughly the area of MW-2), with scattered occurrences laterally in the
deeper zones. `
67 . 10th Street Tracy, CA 95.376 Page ] of 6
+` 209.333.0758 • Fax 209.832.5152
wrighi@inreach.com Lie. #651501 A-B HazMat, C21 I►
websit htip://wri_zhtenvironmentalservices.com j UI
