Box 968
Capitola, California 95010
Attn.: Ms. Winifred Alexander
E Re: Monitoring Well Installation, Sampling and Assessment
` Stefano's Gasoline 1419 Charter Way, Stockton, CA
Dear Ms. Alexander,
Wright Environmental Services, Inc..(Wright) has prepared this workplan on behalf of Estate of
Joe Gardella responsible party for the above referenced site. The proposed work is in response to
a letter dated January 27, 2003 from the San Joaquin Public Health Services Environmental
Health Division(PHS EHD) for additional monitoring well installations and site assessment. This
work is being done to further define the horizontal and vertical extent of petroleum contaminants
released from Underground Storage Tank(s) on-site. Previous site assessment activities have
mapped portions of the dissolved plume and quarterly monitoring sampling with reports are
ongoing at the site.
Background for Scope of Work
The technical approach to this project is to build upon the previous work. Ramage Environmental
` (Ramage) has previously performed site investigation, well installation and quarterly monitoring
for the site during 2000-2003 (see References). Seven groundwater-monitoring wells are
currently used for this site. The monitoring well data has been summarized in Ramage reports.
The site contaminants include Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline (TPHG), Benzene (B),
Toluene (T), Ethylbenzene (E), Xylene (X), Methyl-tert-butyl-ether(MTBE), and fuel oxygenates
tert-Amyl-Methyl-Ether (TAME), Ethyl-tert-Butyl-Ether (ETBE), Di-Isopropyl Ether (RIPE)
and tert-Butyl Alcohol:(TBA) and 1,2-Dichlorethane (1,2-DCA). The monitoring data shows that
dissolved contaminants are present in Well MW-3 and a thin layer of free phase product was
observed in MW-2. These existing monitoring wells are approximately 50 feet deep.
67 E. 10th Street • Tracy,CA 95376 page 1 of 1
209.833.0758 • Fax 209.832.5152
wright@inreach.com Lic. #651501 4-B HaWat iAa
websit htap:11home.inreach.comfwright 1/
