Charter,Stockton, California(Site Code: 508175)
.Dear Mr.Infurna:
Per our phone discussion yesterday we are writing to recommend additional source removal
excavation at the subject property.
Based on field observations and laboratory results it appears that the excavation on June 16 removed
the majority of impacted soil beneath the former tankpit and tispensar islands_ The estimated 250
cubic yards of contaminated soil that was excavated and stoftiled is scheduled to be hauled to
Forward Landfill today for disposal.
Laboratory analysis of soil samples collected from the excav"a n walls following the removal of
the contaminated material indicates that some diesel impacted soil still remains along.the northeast
corner of the excavation. A table summarizing the lab.results along with a sketch map and cross
section are attached.
Inasmuch as the msidual contaminated soil in this area is'i!currently accessible we recommend
additional excavation to remove this limited volume of material. We feel that the removal action
will be beneficial in that it will tend to reduce long-term impact to groundwater. A cost estimate
based on the removal of<150 cubic yards of contaminated soil has been prepared for submittal to
the UST bund.
'I
