Charter Way, Stockton, CA
i
Dear Mr. Williams:
I am writing to follow up on our phone conversation of last Friday. As we discussed, we are
the consultants for Woolsey Oil Inc. for a fuel leak case atl the subject property.
'I
A subsurface investigation has determined that shallow groundwater beneath the facility has been
impacted by releases of petroleum hydrocarbons. We are submitting a Workplan to San Joaquin
County Public Health Services/Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) to excavate
contaminated soil and remove contaminated groundwater from the excavation pit. We intend
to use a RotoRooter vactor truck to pump and discharge the water. We expect that the total
volume of discharge will not exceed 10,000 gallons.
Based on our previous sampling we anticipate that the groundwater may contain up to 16 mg/P
(ppm) total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd), 0.380, ppm total petroleum hydrocarbons
as gasoline (TPHg), and 1.9 ppm methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE). You indicated in our
conversation that the Wastewater Facility discharge limit for petroleum hydrocarbons is 100
ppm. Accordingly will you please issue a special permit for the proposed discharge.
woolsey.chAwilliams.ltr
I
