 F
PRIMA Environmenfffl, Inc: epricei3 of
September 27, 2007
Proposal-Eval of RegenOx
for this task only, in order to confirm that concentrations'4re as expected before
proceeding with subsequent testing.
Task 3. COC Removal
Batch tests will be conducted to evaluate contaminant removal and estimate the amount of
i RegenOx required. Four replicates containing 200 g soil,and 1 L groundwater will be
prepared. After mixing for 1 hour, one replicate will be destructively sampled and the
1 aqueous phases analyzed for.COCs (per Task 1). Soil will be analyzed for DRO. (Other
COCs will not be analyzed in soil because of the difficulty of separating soil and water
without significant losses due to volatilization.) Of the remaining replicates, one will
receive a low dose of RegenOx, one a high dose, and the third will receive no treatment.
The RegenOx-treated bottles will be connected to Tedlar bags to collect off-gases.
Approximately once per.day, the bottles will be swirled to mix. After 14 days, one.
replicate from each series will be destructively sampled. Off-gases will be analyzed for all
COCs except DRO. Water will be analyzed for all COCl. Soil will be analyzed for DRO.
The COC Removal tests are summarized in Table 1.
Table 1. Reaction Conditions for R'e enOx Tests. ..
Test # Estimated Initial Dose,g/L Est. Effect of RegenOx on Secondary Water Quality
To assess the affect of RegenOx on secondary water quality, the aqueous phases from the
+ samples in Task 2 will be analyzed for
- Bromate and bromide-5 day TAT
DO
- Cr(VI)
- Metals (CAM-17+iron) .
- ORP
I pH
i
Bromate will be analyzed using a 5-day TAT so that attenuation tests, if needed, can be
promptly started. Tests to assess Cr(VI) and bromate attenuation, if needed, are discussed
in Task 4.
i
i
