Roberts Petroleum Service Facility
Project No. 1628G
September 7, 1989
Page 1
JULY QUARTERLY
GROUNDWATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
AT
ROBERTS PETROLEUM SERVICES FACILITY
930 VICTOR ROAD
LODI, CALIFORNIA
INTRODUCTION
Ensco Environmental Services, Inc. (EES) has completed the July quarterly sampling
to ascertain the groundwater conditions beneath the Roberts Petroleum Services
facility located at 930 Victor Road in the City of Lodi, San Joaquin County, California
(Figure 1). Six of the seven groundwater monitoring wells at the site were sampled on
July 18, 1989 as part of the quarterly sampling program that was recently initiated at
the request of Roberts Petroleum Services. Well MW -1, adjacent to the transfer block,
remains dry. The program objectives are as follows:
• Plot the groundwater contour surface within the site boundaries.
• Investigate for the presence of a petroleum hydrocarbon plume and
determine concentrations.
• Compare current and past data.
The existence and degree of hydrocarbon contamination is determined by (1)
checking for the presence of free-floating product and (2) performing laboratory
analyses of groundwater samples to determine concentrations of total petroleum
hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHD); total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG);
benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX); and tetra ethyl lead (TEL).
