Wood Company Equipment Maintaince Facility site.
Normally, this agency would oversee an investigation and cleanup of pollution which
threatens to degrade waters of the state. However, because of staff and funding
shortfalls, we will be unable to provide technical oversight of your case at this time.
To assist you in proceeding with your cleanup, enclosed are copies of the following
documents: State Water Resources Control Board Resolutions 92-49, 68-16, and 88-63,
California's Water Quality Standards and Their Applicability To Waste Management and Site
Cleanup, Water Quality Site Assessment For Soils and Ground Water, The Role of Risk
Assessment and Chemical Transport Modeling in Site Assessment and Cleanup Level
Determination, and California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Division 3, Chapter 15, Discharges
of Waste To Land, Application to Site Cleanup. These policies and procedures provide
general guidance for cleanup of contaminated sites.
Even though we will not be overseeing your investigation and cleanup, we want to
maintain a case file and be kept informed of your progress. Therefore, please provide
this office with copies of all letters and reports concerning the cleanup work at your site.
As staff becomes available, we will review your reports and provide oversight. Local
agencies should be contacted before performing any work to determine if there are local
laws, ordinances, or regulations governing the work to be performed.
If you have any questions concerning this matter, you may contact me at (916) 255-3075.
ML'W
NDL.
