6 6
Re-Manufacturing, Ltd. -7- 26 June 1991
Closure Plan
not change the method of closure. Therefore, further definition of the extent of
the contamination will be defined through confirmation sampling and through the
remaining site investigation.
6. We asked that Re-Manufacturing explain inconsistencies in the data such as the
apparent isolated occurrences of phenol in the vadose zone, and the order of
magnitude increase in total extractable hydrocarbons between 10 and 15 feet below
ground surface in the boring No. 2, which was drilled in the impoundment in August
1989. Re-Manufacturing's response was that confirmation samples will be collected
during closure activities to address analytical inconsistencies observed during
previous sampling. We concur, as stated in #11 above, in the closure plan review.
Conclusion:
Most of the HAR has been completed. However, a few deficiencies remain, which may be
completed during the process of closure.
