2245 West Charter Way,Stockton
Workplan for Additional Environmental Sampling
August 7,2013
• Each soil core section(including plastic liner)selected for chemical analyses will be immediately separated
from the total core. The liner containing the selected core will be capped at each end with Teflon®
sheeting, followed by a tight-fitting plastic cap that will be wrapped in tape. Each sample will then be
labeled, logged onto a Chain-of-Custody and placed in an iced cooler for transport to the analytical
laboratory; and
• All borings will be backfilled by free falling neat cement grout after collection of the bottom soil sample or
grab-groundwater sample.
Grab-Groundwater Sampling Protocol
Grab-groundwater samples will be collected at borings B21,B22,B23,B25 and B27. After a boring is advanced to
the desired depth, the drill rod will be removed from the boring. A temporary one-inch diameter well casing will
then placed to the bottom of the boring. After the casing is in place, a '%-inch diameter disposable bailer will be
lowered to the bottom of the temporary well casing to obtain the grab-groundwater sample. The grab-groundwater
sample will then be decanted into the appropriate laboratory provided containers. This process will be repeated at
the other four borings.
Each grab-groundwater sample will be labeled, logged onto a Chain-of-Custody and placed in an iced cooler for
transport to the analytical laboratory.
Disposal of Investigative-Derived Waste
Drill cuttings are not generated during this investigation as drilling will be performed using a direct push rig.
Plastic/acrylic liner debris will be hand cleaned and disposed of as construction debris. Drilling decontamination
water will be contained in a 55-gallon drum and will be transported for recycling.
ANALYTICAL SERVICES
Select soil and up to five grab-groundwater samples will be chemically analyzed at SunStar Laboratories (State
DHS ELAP-Certification#2250)for nitrate as N,ammonia and TKN using the following test methods:
• Nitrate as N(EPA Method 300.0);
• Ammonia(EPA Method 350.3);and
• TKN(EPA Method 351.2)
SCHEDULE
Commencement of the project will begin once an inspection is scheduled with SJCEHD.
Should you have any questions regarding this submittal,do not hesitate to call the undersigned at 310-854-6300.
Respectfully Submitted, SONAL G,4-,_ 9 .
