The Revised Schedule presents recommendations to reduce or modify the
monitoring and sampling program (MRP)required under Regional Board C&A No. 93-701.
In part, C&A No. 93-701 required that eight wells be monitored and sampled on a quarterly basis, and an
additional seven wells (for a total of 15) monitored and sampled on an annual basis. Sample analyses
included total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg)by Luft Method GCFID, volatile organic
compounds (VOCs)by EPA Methods 601 and 602, and analysis for lead and ethylene dibromide (EDB).
In March 1997, staff sent a proposed revision to the MRP to Geweke for review and comment. No
comments were received, and therefore, C&A No. 93-701 is still in effect as the MRP for Geweke,
16 South Cherokee Lane in Lodi.
AGE recommends the following five revisions to the MRP included in C&A No. 93-701 (staff met with
AGE on 6 June 2001 to discuss the proposed items):
1. Reduce depth to water measurements in wells MW-1 through-6, MW-10 through-13, and EW-1
from quarterly to annually.
Staff and AGE agreed that the depth to water measurements should continue for all wells on a
quarterly basis to assess quarterly groundwater flow direction and gradient.
2. Suspension of physicochemical properties and bioenumeration counts.
Staff discussed that that physicochemical properties and bioenumeration count analyses can be
discontinued, because the C&A No. 93-701 did not require these parameters.
California Environmental Protection Agency
r5 Recycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real. Every Californian needs to take immediate action to reduce energy consumption.
For a list of simple ways you can reduce demand and cut your energy costs, see our Web-site at http://www.srkrcb.ca.gov/mgcb5
