Of the
wells that showed an increase in contamination from the December 1993 sampling, MW-6
is up-gradient from the soil contamination plume and MW-7, MW-11 and MW-12 are down-
gradient. EW-1 is located within the southern edge of the soil plume. MW-7 showed the
' smallest increase of TPH concentration (210 ppb to 220 ppb) and, EW-1 showed the
greatest increase, from 810 ppb to 5,400 ppb.
' MW-14, which indicated an decrease in petroleum hydrocarbon contamination, is located
within the soil contamination plume and has decreased consistently since each was initially
sampled in September 1993 and May 1991, respectively. MW-10 is located slightly up-
gradient and west of the contaminated soil plume and has been contaminated intermittently
since initially sampled in May 1991.
' 5.3 Volatile Halocarbon Contamination
1,2-Dichloroethane(1,2-DCA)was detected in samples from MW-8,MW-9,MW-13, MW-14
' and EW-1. The concentrations of 1,2-DCA have decreased from the previous quarter in
MW-13, MW-14 and EW-1. Samples from MW-8 and MW-9 were last collected in April of
1993, by Sun-Tech Environmental. No HVOC's were reported in MW-8 or MW-9 during
the April monitoring.
G-e1-I l.ds<.j.M I..
15
131/4-KOLDAt QR3
