VZ1 INC
be conducted under the oversight of a State of Califor iia Registered Geologist. All geologic logs
and associated field work will be conducted in accord ce with standards established by the Tri-
Regional Board Guidelines for Hydrocarbon Site Ass ssment and Remediation (CRWQCB,
1991).
After each monitoring well is constructed, an inspecti n will be conducted by lowering a clean
bailer to the groundwater surface and retrieving a gro indwater sample. The water in each
monitoring well will be examined for floating petrol un product, sheen or odor. If floating
product is detected, the well will not be developed or sampled. If the well does not show floating
product, it will be developed by surging with a vented surge block and pumping unit until
approximately three to five well volumes are purged and stable field readings of pH, specific
conductivity and temperature are obtained. After groundwater returns to approximately 90
percent of static groundwater elevation, the well will be sampled using a clean bailer and the
water will be transferred to laboratory-sterilized glass receptacles. Groundwater samples will be
,- analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline and diesel fuel using USEPA Test Method
j 8015(m) and for BTEX using USEPA Test Method 602.
Purged groundwater and drill cuttings will be stored c nsite in 55-gallon drums. Wellhead
elevations and horizontal coordinates will be surveye using appropriate methods to an accuracy
of 0.01 foot vertical and 0.1 foot horizontal. All elev tions will be tied to a United States Coast
and Geodetic Survey or United States Geological Survey benchmark. All survey notes will be
provided, including distances measured and any verti al or horizontal angles measured. All
surveying work will be conducted under the oversigh of a State of California Registered Civil
Engineer or Land Surveyor.
08420010.001 10
