Former ARCO Station #6100 - 2 - 9 May 2018
25775 South Patterson Pass Road
Tracy, San Joaquin County
In a 23 May 2017 letter, Central Valley Water Board staff concurred with the proposed scope of
work. However, Central Valley Water Board staff subsequently reached an agreement with
Arcadis that the proposed scope of work would be postponed until Site remediation was
complete and the SVE/AS system was shut-down.
Based on further review of the Revised Work Plan and historical Site data, Central Valley Water
Board staff requests the following additions/changes to the proposed scope of work:
• Naphthalene analysis of soil from between 0 to 5 and 5 to 10 feet bgs in borings B-49
through B-54.
• In order to compare data to LTCP criteria, soil samples from borings B-55 and
B-56 should be collected from 5 and 10 feet bgs (instead of 6 and 13 feet bgs, as
proposed), respectively, with analysis to also include po!ycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
(PAHs).
Central Valley Water Board staff request that, following shut-down of the remedial system, you
begin implementing the proposed scope of work including naphthalene and PAH analysis
requested above. By 7 September 2018, please submit an Assessment Report detailing the
completion of the proposed scope of work and the resultant findings. Please include details of
the remedial system shut-down. Please include an evaluation of Site data and conditions as
compared to each of the General and Media-Specific criteria of the LTCP, providing discussion
of how each criterion is met and recommendations to address any remaining data gaps.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding comments in this letter please call me at
(916) 464-4615 or contact me by email at alan.buehler waterboards.ca. ov.
SS I ON', c
Alan M.
