We know that it is greater than one
hundred feet below ground surface but in order to properly evaluate the need for further vertical
assessment the actual depth to ground water measurement is required. If there is a well log for the
existing well at this site please provide a copy of it to PHS/EHD. Also, the depth to first groundwater
should be measured in the existing well. Please notify PHS/EHD, prior to the water level measurement.
Soil samples were collected from borings twelve and thirteen on November 20, 1991 and analyzed by the
laboratory on December 5.6, 1991. This is longer than the maximum holding time of fourteen days
shown in the LUFT manual. In the future please ensure analysis of samples within the acceptable
holding time.
The further work proposed may proceed once the permits have been obtained. If the borings south of
the dispenser islands are in the San Joaquin County right-of-way an encroachment permit must be
secured from San Joaquin County Public Works Department and a separate permit application and
$89.00 fee must be submitted to PHS/EHD for those borings.
If you have any questions contact Margaret Lagorio, Senior REHS, at (209) 468-3449.
Jogi Khanna M.P.H.
Health O ce
rie A Cotulla, REHj/S/PWManager
rogram
nvironmental Health Division
LAC/ML:Ib
c: Applied Geosystems, Inc.
