Mr. Alan M. Buehler
May 19, 2017
Petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations during the third quarter 2016 and first quarter 2017 were low or
not detected above laboratory reporting limits. Further details regarding the third quarter 2016 and first
quarter 2017 monitoring and sampling events are included in the Semi-Annual Groundwater Monitoring
and Remediation Progress Reports, dated October 28, 2016 and May 19, 2017, respectively.
During the third quarter 2016 and first quarter 2017 groundwater sampling events, Arcadis collected
samples from accessible air sparge wells in order to collect data in areas where monitoring wells were
dry. In addition, as discussed in the April 17, 2017 meeting between Arcadis and Mr. Alan Buehler of the
CVRWQCB, additional wells had sufficient water for sampling during the first quarter 2017 event after
receipt of the CVRWQCB's letter as compared to the third quarter 2016 event. Because more recent data
have been collected from some of the historically dry wells and data from some air sparge wells were
collected, Arcadis does not recommend additional well installation and/or replacement at this time.
As recommended in the Semi-Annual Groundwater Monitoring and Remediation Progress Report-First
Quarter 2017, Arcadis is proposing continued operation of the current air sparge/soil vapor extraction
system at the site based on the results of the rebound test. Therefore, Arcadis proposes implementation
of the soil sampling described above after system shut down in order to accurately evaluate post-
remediation site conditions.
If you have any questions or comments regarding the contents of this report, please contact Megan
Smoley at 626.590.1502 or by e-mail at megan.smoley@arcadis.com or Sherrie Lang of Arcadis at
916.865.3171 or by e-mail at sherrie.lang@arcadis.com.
Sincerely,
Arcadis U.S., Inc. Cr,AL
ti !
MEGAN E.WOLEY 4
/ q,7 Ne et,1<
Sherrie Lang Megan Smoley, P.G. T Gc C tC"
kL
Associate Project Manager Senior Geologist
Copies:
Lisa J.
