The October 3, 2002, ground water sample results from the
three monitoring wells are similar to the ground water sample results from the
three wells when they were sampled from March 1994 until November 1996,
except for 1,2-DCA. The previous reports in the EHD file do not contain
analytical results for 1,2-DCA.
The City of Lodi has a well within 1000 feet of the site. The highest concentration
of 1,2-DCA was 26 ug/l, which was in the water sample from MW2. This
concentration is considerably above the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for
public drinking water of .5 ul/I. Therefore, water samples should again be
collected from the three monitoring wells and analyzed for the same chemicals
tested for on the October 2002 samples. If the results are confirmed to be
substantially over the MCL for drinking water, you will be required to define the
lateral and vertical.extent of the ground water contaminant plume.
If you have any questions contact me at (209) 468-3449.
Donna Heran, REHS
Director of Environmental Health
-rn- 04,
Margaret Lagorio, Supervising REHS
Site Mitigation Unit
c: URS —Vernon Elarth
