In conjunction with our on-site investigation, ARCO has requested that EMCON
perform an off-site environmental investigation at nearby properties.
This letter is to request authorization for EMCON and our subcontractors to drill one boring and install
one vapor extraction well on your property, Parcel No. 25 of the San Joaquin County Assessors map,
page 43 of Book 140; the parcel is at the intersection of Cherokee Lane and Lodi Avenue in Lodi,
California, which is west of ARCO service station no. 760.
It is EMCON's understanding from the city of Lodi Public Works Department that the alley located
south of your property has been divided among adjacent property owners. That is your property now
extends to 10 feet from the limits of your previous property boundary to the alley. The environmental
investigation we propose to conduct on your property will provide data on the condition of soil
northwest of the ARCO station and comply with San Joaquin County Public Health Services
requirements that hydrocarbons in soil be delineated.
EMCON has enclosed ARCO's License Agreement and three figures. Figure 1 is a generalized site plan
showing features near ARCO service station no. 760. Shown on Figure 1 is the approximate location
of the vapor extraction well we propose to install on your property. Figure 2 is a schematic well design
showing the construction of a typical vapor extraction well installed by EMCON for projects
throughout California.
SAC/PJM805\t08O5l l7O.l CM-94/marn:3
