April 7, 1992 <br /> ARCO Service Station No. 760, Lodi, California <br /> I <br /> Sampling Stockpiled Soil <br /> Drill cuttings generated from the vapor-extraction wells were stockpiled onsite and covered <br /> 1 <br /> with plastic sheeting pending laboratory results A composite soil sample of drill cuttings <br /> was collected on June 14, 1991 <br /> Soil excavated from under the old tanks and product lines was stockpiled onsite We <br /> collected four soil samples from approximately every 50 cubic yards to be composited into <br /> one soil sample in the laboratory The excavated soil from the former tank cavity was <br /> stockpiled north of the dispenser islands (piles 2, 3, and 4 on Plate 5) Excavated soil from <br /> 1 <br /> the new tank cavity was stockpiled in the former tank cavity (piles 5, 6, 7, and 8 on Plate <br /> 5) above the geofabnc The soil excavated near and under tank T8 was stockpiled east of <br /> . the station building as shown on Plate 5 and labeled piles 9 and 10 We sampled soil piles <br /> 2 through 10 for laboratory analyses on June 19, 1991 Soil excavated near tank T9 was <br /> stockpiled on July 17, 1991, this pile is labeled pile 11 on Plate 5 <br /> Laboratory Analyses <br /> Four soil samples were collected from the drill cuttings (pile 1) from approximately every <br /> 50 cubic yards of soil (piles 2 through 11) and submitted to a State-certified laboratory <br /> 1 where each set of four soil samples was composited into one sample for analyses of TPHg <br /> and BTEX In addition, single soil samples collected from piles 4, 5, and 6 were analyzed <br /> for total cadmium, chromium, lead, nickel, and zinc In addition a bioassay was conducted <br /> 1 to evaluate whether the soil was hazardous material The four soil samples collected from <br /> pile 11 and composited into one sample was analyzed for TPHg, BTEX, TPHd, TOG, <br /> volatile organic compounds (VOC's), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB's), total cadmium, <br /> 1 • <br /> 38048-5 14 <br /> 1 <br />
