URS <br /> iMs Margaret Lagorio, Supervising REHS Page 6 <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> October 11, 2004 <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Well Development, Sampling, and Surveying <br /> Both groundwater monitoring wells will be developed, no less than 72 hours following installation, by <br /> rigorously surging over the length of the screen interval and by pumping approximately 10 casing <br /> volumes of water from each well The pH, temperature, conductivity, and turbidity of the development <br /> water will be measured and recorded periodically during the development process <br /> Groundwater samples will be collected from the wells no less than 48 hours after development The <br /> groundwater samples will be analyzed for GRO by EPA Method 8015B, and BTEX, MtBE, TBA, DIPE, <br /> ETBE,TAME, 1,2-DCA,EDB by EPA Method 8260B Trip blanks will be collected and placed on hold <br /> as part of this investigation <br /> The well location will be surveyed with respect to northing and easting positions The top-of-casing <br /> elevation will be surveyed with respect to mean sea level Survey data will be uploaded to GeoTracker <br /> Equipment Decontamination and Soil Cutting and Wastewater Disposal <br /> All down-hole drilling equipment used during soil boring and grab groundwater sampling will be <br /> thoroughly decontaminated between drilling locations Soil cuttings and wastewater generated during <br /> drilling activities will be placed in labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon steel drums and transported to an <br /> ARCO station located at 900 S Cherokee Lane for storage pending disposal <br /> Composite soil cutting samples will be collected from the drums in 6-inch long, 2-inch-diameter,brass <br /> liners with the ends sealed with Teflon°tape and plastic end caps, labeled, and placed in a cooter on ice <br /> for delivery to a California certified laboratory, under chain of custody The samples will be submitted <br /> and analyzed for GRO by EPA Method 8015B (preparation EPA Method 5030), BTEX by EPA Method <br /> 8260B (preparation EPA Method 5030), and total lead by EPA Method 6000/7000 series After receipt <br /> of analytical results, Dillard Environmental will pick up and transport the drums for disposal as <br /> nonhazardous waste <br /> Report Preparation <br /> Following receipt of analytical results, a report will be prepared summarizing the results of the <br /> investigation <br /> • <br /> K\wprocess\i5 BP ARCO\00760\2004 Assessment\760 site assessment report with workplan V2 04 doc <br />
