FOX E VIRONMENTAL SERVICES, INC.
8015 West Cliff Drive 6 Knoxville, TN 37919 ® (61 51 690-1996
July 2, 1985
Mr. Kelly Williamson RE: Douglas Station
Kayo Oil Company 900 S. Cherokee Lane
1221 E. Main St. Lodi, California
Chattanooga, TN 37408
Dear Mr. Williamson:
A monitoring visit was performed at the Douglas Station located
at 900 S. Cherokee Lane in Lodi, California on June 21, 1985.
There are nine monitoring wells installed at this location, but only
three are deep enough to assess ground water conditions .
No visible signs of hydrocarbon were measured or observed in MW1 or
MW9, but there was a substantial amount of product on the water surface
in MW8. After the three monitoring wells were measured, MW8 was bailed
down and the product removed. In less than one hour, MW8 had recharged
back to its original levles, indicating a significant amount of product
in the area of MW8.
At this location, the possibility exists that the product found in
MW8 could conceivably be coming from off site, given the location of
MW8 in relation to the storage tanks located at the car wash approximately
150 ft . to the north
It appears that more investigation is needed at this site, to
establish tha source of the product which is in evidence in MW8, and if
it is determined that the product is not coming from off site, then
determine the extent of the plume and institute recovery proceedings .
Attached is a plot drawing of this location with a suggested location
for three new monitoring wells, positioned to determine if the product is
indeed coming from off site.
Please advise if you wish to proceed with the new well installation
at this location.
Ve ruly yours,
Jam Gds '
es R.
