MARCOR Environmental (MARCOR) submitted the Update on behalf
of D&D Properties, LLC (D&D) for the LTS Rentals Truck Yard at 1430 and 1600 South
Cherokee Lane in Lodi (Site).
The Update reports that MARCOR collected 10, four-point composite samples from the
stockpile on 10 January from depths ranging from 1.5 to 6 feet below the top of the pile.
Laboratory analytical results showed that total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel
(TPHd) concentrations ranged from 3,300 to 480 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg);
above the cleanup goal of 100 mg/kg. On 20 April, MARCOR inoculated the stockpile
with a biological and nutrient solution to stimulate biodegradation of petroleum
constituents. MARCOR will perform two additional inoculation events on 5 May and 12
May and follow each event with moisture amendments three days later.
MARCOR proposes to sample the stockpile on 19.May to assess whether their proposed
TPHd cleanup goal of 100 mg/kg has been attained. They propose to perform an
additional inoculation event if the TPHd concentration in any of the samples exceeds 100
mg/kg. Once, confirmation samples show that remediation goals have been met MARCOR
will remove the plastic cover, and submit a report soliciting Central Valley Water Board
staff concurrence to use the soil to backfill the excavation. D&D anticipates that the project
will be completed by the end of May 2011.
We concur with the Update. Please notify us if remediation goals are not met after the
proposed contingency inoculation.
California Environmental Protection Agency
Co Recycled Paper
