ACTIONS TO TAKE <br /> WHEN THE BUILDING ALARM SOUNI DS <br /> The preceding diagram is a suggested designation of assembly points for gcneral personnel and they <br /> PAE-RGENcY RESPONSETEAM during an evacuation, to provide a method o:f accounting fOr all <br /> personnel and keeping them out of danger. <br /> Locations for general personnel assembly points should meet the following criteria: <br /> i) It is at least 300 feet away from the building,to protect againstexplosion hazards. <br /> 2) Itis a large enough area to accommodate the number of people required, without <br /> overcrowding. <br /> ;) It is out of the way of all likely paths of emergency vehicles. <br /> 4) If possible, it is not in the direct line of sight of a particularly hazardous at-ca. <br /> 5) It is situated so that personnel can be evacuated ftom the property without violating <br /> criteria 9 1, 3, and 4. <br /> s) In the case of multi-building sites,a separate area for the personnel from each huilding <br /> should be designated,to correspond with the criteria listed above. These areas can be <br /> adjacent to one another so long as they are somewhat separated. <br /> 7) All personnel should be well informed of the location of their assembly point. <br /> 8) EVACUATION MAPS showing assembly points and the: safest routes of travel from each <br /> exit should be given to all Supervisory personnel. <br /> �) Evacuation maps with the below listed elements should be posted in designated tivur'. <br /> areas: <br /> A. The direction of Alorth <br /> B. Aisles and passageways <br /> c. Access and egress locations <br />
