Petroleum Product Spill Reporting Procedures Guide <br /> For all petroleum incidents that involve spills on owned or leased property, or a linehaul or city <br /> tractor accident, the incident is to be reported as explained below. Examples of petroleum spills <br /> are diesel fuel, motor oil, and waste oil. <br /> Petroleum Incidents or Spills Relating to Storage Tanks: <br /> If a petroleum incident or spill involves underground or aboveground storage tanks and/or saddle <br /> tanks, the incident is first to be reported through the YRC Chemical Help Line. The following <br /> information explains the fuel spill procedures. <br /> ♦ If the spill is at the terminal, IMMEDIATELY UPON DISCOVERY,take steps to stop and <br /> contain the spill using oil dry, absorbent booms and/or pads. Then proceed to contact a <br /> Hazardous Material Representative who will coordinate clean-up activities, and if required <br /> dispatch an emergency response contractor. <br /> ♦ If the spill occurs on the road IMMEDIATELY contact the Kansas City General Office <br /> (KCGO) Chemical Help Line and a response contractor will be dispatched to the scene. <br /> KCGO Chemical Help Line <br /> (800) 395-5446 or(913) 344-5446 <br /> Complete a Petroleum Product Discharge Report form and Fax to KCGO <br /> Environmental Services at (913) 344-3614. <br /> A KCGO Chemical Help Line Hazardous Material Representative will prepare an incident report <br /> for the Environmental Services Department who will be responsible for contacting and reporting <br /> the spill to appropriate regulatory agencies. <br /> For Routine Matters: <br /> If you have routine questions regarding the fuel system,waste disposal,tank testing,results of fuel <br /> inventory reporting,permits or fees,please contact the Environmental Services Department at the <br /> following numbers: <br /> Ruben Byerley—Manager-Safety, Health &Environmental Services (913) 344-3644 <br /> (Fuel System/Inventory/OSHA) <br /> Lea Anne Corliss—Environmental Coordinator II (913) 344-3367 <br /> (Fees, Permits, Sara Title III, Tank Testing) <br /> A-6 <br />
